When you take the NY real estate continuing education online course, you’ll learn about topics that include fair housing, ethics, the law of agency, credit repair, and environmental issues. You’ll need to complete 22.5 hours of education every two years, making it necessary to find the right course. You’ll learn about all facets of the real estate market to ensure you stay qualified to handle real estate transactions and represent your clients. You’ll learn how each of these topics relates to your profession and your responsibilities as a licensed real estate agent or broker. The New York state-approved real estate continuing education can be taken online and needs to be completed before your license expires to avoid interruptions with the services you provide.
More than 25 videos are included in the course, which you can watch at your own pace before you’re ready to take an exam. The course is also available in English or Spanish for your convenience.

Real Estate Continuing Education classes are a critical step to keeping your New York State license active. In fact, all New York State Real Estate licensees need to complete 22.5 hours of real estate continuing education every two years.

What are the Current Continuing Education Requirements?
All licensees submitting a renewal for a license expiring prior to July 1, 2021, are required to successfully complete 22.5 hours of approved continuing education, including at least:
Any salesperson who successfully completes an approved broker qualifying course (which requires passing the final exam), within their current term, will receive continuing education credit for completion of that course.

Yes, you are required to complete at least 22.5 hours of certified real estate continuing education courses within your two year license term.
Each continuing education class is between 3.75 hours to 7.5 hours approximately.
You must complete all 22.5 hours of continuing education before your license expires.
You can only be exempt in one of two ways. First, if you are a licensed real estate broker who is engaged full time in the real estate business and who has been licensed prior to July 1, 2008 for at least 15 consecutive years immediately preceding renewal. Second, if you are an attorney admitted to the New York State Bar who holds a real estate broker’s license as well.
After July 1, 2008, the 22.5 required hours must include at least 3 towards Fair Housing and Law of Agency.
